The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil

I'm a big skincare fan.  Aren't we all these days?  It's cool to be into skincare just like it's cool to be into working out and 'eating clean' (note: I feel irrationally stabby every time that phrase is bandied about).  I have really enjoyed incorporating facial oils and serums into my routine over the past year/18 months so naturally a hybrid between the two piqued my interest.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil (£12 from The Body Shop) is that guy.  It is clear, very liquid, and has a slight oily texture once applied to the skin.  It smells, not offensive, but does have a slight floral/talc scent that is potentially something to be aware of if you are overly sensitive.  Most importantly though, this stuff is goooooooood.  It was the afternoon after the first use, when I was sitting amidst a pile of textbooks with my face in my hands, that I realised how soft my skin was.  I had a few stubborn dry patches (leaving the house is a rarity at the minute, HYFR study leave! so I didn't care enough to get rid of them) that disappeared overnight and upon further inspection my complexion was noticeably brighter.

I have had this for just over two weeks and it has slotted very nicely into my life.  In fact, I'd go as far to say that this is my face oil of choice right now; I pick it ahead of everything else in my possession most nights.  I implore you all to go out and buy it - it is twelve pounds.  Twelve.  Probably less considering The Body Shop run deals at the same frequency as DFS.  Get it, gurl.

  1. This sounds amazing! Unbelieavably, my skin has actually had a few dry patches lately (otherwise it's quite oily), I might have to try this x

    1. I'm exactly the same, dry in some places and is mega oily in others! Thankfully this adds moisture without overwhelming the skin.

  3. Is it similar to the Clarins oil in the picture? I have the Blue Orchid oil and find it a bit much for warmer months.. is The Body Shop oil/serum lighter? I use Estee Lauder ANR right now.. but thats an expensive product! A dupe is always welcome!

    1. I definitely find it lighter - I think it is to do with the fact it doesn't quite seem to be an oil or a serum. Never actually used ANR, it seems to be a very divisive product!

  4. This seems like such a great (and cheaper) alternative to some of the more expensive serums. DEFINITELY picking this up!

  5. Nothing better than a treatmetn oil, tried Vitamin E and the Clarins one, liked the both, but my favorites are the Decleour treatments oils, very expensive buth worth the price tag.

    1. She's so right! Nope, I am oily and VERY prone to break outs and this doesn't upset my skin at all - it is just very light and hydrating!

  7. I have this serum but disregarded so far. I should start using it! In my skincare routine I get really lazy, and usually just apply 1 single product on my face, usually gravitate towards moisturizing cream. Bad, bad.

    1. Oh you definitely should, it's brilliant! I'm the complete opposite, my routine is probably a bit too comprehensive... haha
